I just bought a broken imac with hopes of fixing it. It starts runs for some time and than it trows red lines on the screen and freezes. I made a vidio of it for batter explenation.

I took it apart and capacitors looked fine.

17" iMac G5 with iSight, 150 gig hard drive, 1.5 gigs DDR2 ram, DVD+R DL/DVD±RW/CD-RW SuperDrive, AirPort Extreme, Bluetooth

Please advise.

looks like it could be a graphics card or screen problem, as it does not effect the rest of the system. May want to bring it to your local apple store and have it looked at. My only suggestion would be to reinstall OSX, but if it is a graphics problem, that may not help. Good Luck:rolleyes:
