Hello!

I am a complete idiot and accidentally dropped my beloved iPhone 4 in the toilet (and very quickly grabbed it) and in a desperate effort to shut it off to stop any further damage I removed the back and took the battery out.

What I didn't stop to read and take time to do was remove the screw that holds the battery in place and I ended up ripping out a small black plastic tab looking thing along with the battery.

I know the battery is toast and i will definitely need a new one, but does anyone know what the small black plastic tab thing is? I am not very tech savy and I shouldn't have done that in the first place but i really didn't know what else to do.

If anyone knows what it might be and how I would go about fixing it I would be forever thankful!

Cheers!

Can you post a picture for a reference? Taking a guess, maybe its the battery connector. But I would need to see a picture to be 100%.
