Update: I have successfully updated.

-----
My Macbook pro is on Mojave 10.14.4.
I want to upgrade to 10.14.6. Please let me know how. Any help is highly appreciated.

I downloaded from Apple the macOS Mojave 10.14.6 Update.
But when I click install, my hard drive shows an exclamation mark

I believe the 10.14.6 update is for going from 10.14.5 to 10.14.6.

You need the 10.14.6 Combo Update (it can update from your current 10.14.4 directly to 10.14.6):

Just use Software Update in System Preferences. Chances are that you'll see an update to Catalina or Big Sur featured prominently but there will also be more subtle text for additional updates. This is where you'll see the 10.14.6 update.

If updating doesnt work you could do the following:
- download Mojave installer
- install Mojave on the drive with 10.14.4
- dont format or delete anything before you install Mojave
This way you’ ll have a 10.14.6 install while all your preferences and data remains untouched
- after this install you can update to the latest security update the common way : in preferences > updates
