Hi,
I am looking to upgrade to an iPhone 4 or iPhone 4s. I will only be using it for 3 months so a pay as you go plan is what I need. I live in the United Kingdom. Is it cheaper to buy an unlocked handset from the Apple store or from Amazon or eBay or cr Craigslist?
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

idk how much ETF is where you are but here for att it's $325.

So buying an iPhone for $199 + $325 ETF is $524 (+tax)

Wirelessly posted (iPhone 4)

There is not really the concept of an ETF in the uk - if you sign a contract, you see out that contact.
The only way to get out of a contact early is to fully pay it up - in other words, if you have 12 months of a £40 a month contract left, you can pay £480 and cancel.

£499 for the 4s in most outlets in the Uk including apple.

The iPhone 4 8gb is slightly cheaper.

I purchased my iPhone 4 from 02 about 8 months ago on payg for £504.

I personally prefer not to buy from the well known auction sites.
Many do get burned and on balance some also end up with a good bargain !

I prefer the security of buying outright with a receipt and full warranty backing.

There is a highstreet store I have bought from that buy and sell mobiles as well as other gadgets. They test anything before buying and only buy from members. They grade the quality of the phone in accordance with aesthetics, supplied accessories and if it's in the original packaging.

They then put their own personal 12 month warranty on the mobile. If anything did happen like imei lockouts then they swap it out for you. If your wanting to know their name then PM me and I'll let you know it's name. There also on the net.

I'd love to hear the name of the site.. However I don't know how to PM ya, it appears to be disabled on this board.
