Hi, i was using aMSN for quite a while until I noticed that the Microsoft Messenger for Mac was actually quite good, I then installed that and then couldn't log in to MSN at all! I've tried uninstalling all versions of MSN on my Mac and reinstalling them, I've even tried Mercury Messenger but I can't log in. I do get error messages, on aMSN it says that I'm offline, even thought I'm online and I get the same message with Microsoft Messenger. However on Mercury it says it can't sign in because "the connection with the MSN server (messenger.hotmail.com:1863) could not be established" and "The connection was interrupted by the server (unknown reason)". I have no firewall set up either. Pleeease help!

I'm getting the same error with Adium, but it seems to be messed up with certain accounts only...

Just wait... The MSN servers will be back again.

Here's an update on the situation:
I'm getting the same thing on my dad's MacBook (I'm using and iMac G5) and also on out Windows XP which we don't use that much if at all, but the Windows does quote what error it is, it's 80072745.

I can't get on tonight, been off since at least 9:15pm (about half an hour) when I got home from work.

Just wait, there's probably some bloody server problem somewhere.

I'm not able to sign into hotmail at the moment (I never use Messenger).

Maybe all the Zune activity is taking down their servers.

For the last two days...I couldn't access MR and use MSN Messennger/Adium..

Now at least MR is back, but MSN nop....can't connect

(And no it's not any connection...every web page is fine...even though MR wouldn't load a couple of days ago)

my msn has been buggy over the last couple of days. messages not sending, or, wen i recieve messages, they dont reach me, and i get an error sound.

ive told microsoft, they asked some more questions, and it seemed to be fixed.... but alas its back.
