I've tried to love my mighty mouse for a long time but I've come to face it's a child so ugly no mother could truly love it. For those of you still trying, good luck. I'm not going to rant about how the ball gets filled with crap and the right click doesnt work blah blah blah.

But, if anyone would recommend another wireless (USB fine, maybe preferred) mouse under 70 bucks that won't make me want to smash someone's face against the wall I'd appreciate it. I'm really looking for back/forward buttons which work with Safari (as I know these features are usually just reserved for Windows). Thanks.

Logtitech VX Revolution.
Costs $50.

I've always loved Microsoft mice.

Very durable, comfortable, and very reliable.

I think you can find a good variation of MS mice, but I advise you go to a store (if possible) and try them out for comfort (Microsoft makes different types of mice for different types of users :)), then buy one online.

Some of these look very good to me (in terms of comfort and ease of use). :)

Thanks, these are both good recommendations.

I'm looking at the logitech VX right now, and it seems pretty attractive.

I'm also looking at the "Microsoft Notebook Mouse for Mac" (great name, eh?) because I get the impression it will have some decent software support on leopard for browsing. However, I don't think it's available yet and I might have a nervous breakdown if I use this mighty mouse too much longer.

I might go to staples before nine and just pay a ridiculous price for the VX.

Thanks again.

Actually it is available:

As for software support:
"The software maker hasn't made any software or hardware changes to the Bluetooth Notebook Mouse 5000. It has, however, created new retail packaging for the product, dubbing it Microsoft Notebook Mouse for Mac"

I don't know how you mouse people survive.

Once you go track ball, you'll never go back. And that is the trackball to get. I've been using Expert Mice for over a decade now.

I still love my Logitech MX-1000. Great stuff. I have buttons mapped to forward, back, expose, and dashboard.

The VX is sweet. The only problem I have had was with the drivers.

Yep, that's the way to go. Order it from Amazon or Tiger Direct and you'll have it in a couple of days for $48 total. It's an awesome mouse. I think you'll need steermouse or usb overdrive to get the back/forward buttons to work (as back/forward - they'll work great for exposé, dashboard, and spaces right out of the box) though. No big loss - $20 for steermouse is the best $20 I've ever spent on software.

Oh god, no! Trackballs are simply maddening!

How did a Windows user get on here? Enjoy your carpal tunnel syndrome!

Trackballs take some getting used to, but I'll never go back to mice. I hate them.

Thanks, this has been helpful.

I just ordered the vx revolution from amazon, just around 50 bucks. I considered the mx, but a review on there said the drivers were not as flexible for mac as the vx, oddly. Well, I'm excited. Maybe I'll post a video of me smashing this god damn mighty mouse with a sledge hammer after I get the vx.

Does anyone else find it odd that, despite the general level of dissatisfaction, apple didn't introduce a new mouse to match the slim keyboard that came out with the imac?

This mouse is my favorite. I can't help but to click it often.

Honestly, no. I didn't think Apple really cared much about comfort or quality in the case of the Might Mouse. :(

I mean it looks nice, but there's not much else that can be said about it.
