So about forty minutes ago, my iBook G4 (circa mid-October 2005) turned off and wouldn't turn back on. I skimmed through the Apple support documents, tried resetting the PMU, took the battery out, and now my battery status button won't work either. What the hell's going on? It doesn't do a thing when I press the power button.

Does it work without the battery in and just plugged in?
Nope, tried that too. Doesn't work plugged in with the battery out or in. When I plug it in, the AC light is amber so it's charging. I'm freakin' out because I have papers due in a few days and my transportation is limited so I can't go to the Apple store immediately.

charging without the battery in? that's strange.

Anyway, try booting with the CD's.
Sorry, it only charges when the battery is in. When the battery's out the light is green. How could I boot from a CD if it doesn't do a thing when I hit power?

Ah, my mind is off today, sorry. Make an appointment at your apple store - could be a logic board problem.
