Help! My iMac is infected with the yellow virus!

This just started 5 minutes ago. Never seen it before in the 3 years I've owned a Mac. The iMac it's happening on is a 24-incher I bought in 2006. It's only affecting TextEdit right now but I use that app daily and this is becoming very annoying. Everything is highlighted in yellow and I can't turn it off. EVEN the doc title and save buttons. Anyone seen this before or know what to do? Here are some screenshots.

Quit/restart TextEdit. Did it fix it? Restart. Did it fix it? Shut Down and restart. Did it fix it? Reinstall TextEdit. Did it fix it?

:doh: Restarting TextEdit did the trick. For some reason, both myself and the Indian text support man couldn't think of this. Apple's Indian text support fellow told me I would have to achieve and reinstall the entire OS.

Seriously, why not just delete the TextEdit plist?

Call tech support next time. Text support is woefully inadequate for this.
