iPod HELP. My ipod wont show up on itunes.

i transferred a game to a windows computer and it said i had to reformat my ipod (on the windows computer) to use my ipod so i did and ever since i havent been able to see my ipod on itunes and it shows up as a usb
i reset the ipod in the settings and held the menu and middle button
its an ipod nano 4g (nanochromatic) and i use a macbook (newest one) and i do have the newest itunes
