hello all!

the contents of my Macintosh HD>library folder has disappeared....
When i search for a folder i know is in there, using spotlight , it shows up but all the other folders contained in the library seem hidden.

Have used get info to check folder size etc, which hasn't changed.:(

Any Ideas appreciated!!

thanks ,Mark (mac noob)

the desktop pictures folder, once i have sucessfully found a folder using spotlight, it then shows in the finder view of the library folder, and stays there.

I have tried doing repair disk permissions using disk utility to no avail.

im using tiger 10.4.4

re installed os x last week on a second ide drive, and used migration assistant to copy all my previous user settings, files etc. dont know if this has anything to do with it, but library folder WAS 'viewable' after the install and migration.

is there some kind of option to hide/show folders like in windows?

still new to mac but have had several 'trying' lol years experience with windows!!

No.. not built-in for the uninitiated. How are you viewing /Library? By Icon, List, or Column? Can you please post a screen shot?

have just tried changing the view to icon from columns, then dragged one of the icons as if to copy it and bam! all the icons re-appeared!!:)

how very strange? but it seems to have fixed itself!! thanks for your time yellow, feel like a bit of an idiot now!
