it happens randomly and to random pages, starting with maybe one website and then getting worse quickly, sometimes to the point that no pages load at all, on safari or chrome. when i restart the computer, it's fine for a little while and then the issue comes back. it's not a dns issue, and my internet connection is fine. none of my other family members have this issue with their laptops. i'm pretty sure i have some kind of virus, because i stream a lot of movies on the kind of sketchy website viooz.co, on which you get a pop-up everytime you click something. :( all i want to know is what kind of virus this could be and how i can get rid of it.

thank you in advance!

Simple Solution

In my experience, I just took out the applications and extensions that I suspected were causing an interference with the webpages.

Just uninstall them and your browsers should be fine.

The apps I took out were Avast Anti-virus and AVG Linkscanner.
