my macbook is acting crazy. I try to turn it off/restart/logoff and it always stops half way saying finder wont quit then it says it has time out. I have drain the battery to see if that would get it to shut down but that didn't work. Any ideas whats wrong with finder? help! lol here are some pics. when i try to turn it off only the top bar goes away but the dock just stays there.

You could just turn it off via the power button.

You might want to open up Console (USE SPOTLIGHT TO FIND IT) and check out All Messages to figure out what Finder is hanging on.

What third party login items do you have?

Holding down the power button until the computer powers off won't work?

Ok that worked. I didn't know you could hold the power button like that. I thought you just click it. And now everything works again. thanks.
