Help! My new 15" is not closing!

Hi,

New to the Mac world... I just swicthed today!
Sadly, my new PW Al 15" is not closing.... whenever I close the display, it stays closed for 10 seconds and then pops open!

Anyone else with this problem? Can it be solved?

It's new...take/send it back and get another. There's sadly always going to be an occasional duff one - especially on the 'just released' stuff.

Another user had a similar problem (quite a few people have), and they had the Apple Care people walk the instructions for fixing it over the phone. It's a simple process of bending the latch ever so slightly. If you search recent threads, you'll probably find the instructions.

Or you can call Apple Care and ask them to walk you through it.

If I were you I wouls call apple care and get it replaced or return it to the store you bought it from and get it replaced
