HELP-- My white 2008 macbook's disk drive not working

Hey

First of all my disk drive is not working. Well it does, but it makes a horrible ticking noise, then it wont eject!

I dont have apple care, and im just wondering if this is covered through the limited warrenty. Or if there is anything I can do to make my drive work.

Any feedback would be great. I am a university student who NEEDS to be able to use my disk drive!

if it's less than a year old, it will be covered under the warranty, unless you clearly did something to cause its failure. The warranty doesn't cover user damage. but, if it just up and quit working, it'll be covered. if its crucial that you have it working, i'd get it to an apple store or call applecare and take care of it now before it really breaks for good and you're left without any warranty. it'll all be fine.

If you are close to an Apple store, take it in. As stated before, if it is less than a year old it is still under warranty.
