I have my data on my iPhone4. I did the "erase all content and settings". In the process of the little spinning icon, my sim (which was deactivated already since I got the iphone 4s) was removed.

In thinking that's all that needed to be done, I gave my phone to someone, who now tells me that after waiting a few hours, the phone boots up to the iphone 4 lock screen.

How can I make sure he can't get to my data in the iphone4? I can't send a "wipe" via "find my iphone" since I longer have my sim chip in it. Since he has his sim chip in it, if he plugs it into his computer with itunes, wouldn't it ask him to wipe the phone automaticaly? If so, when it reboots, it shouldn't boot up to my lock screen, right? It'll be like it was a new iphone4?
