I was wondering if anyone knew much about Airport. I have an Ibook, an older one, and I am trying to connect to a network in my apartment. When I go to put in the password for the apartments network, it tells me its the wrong password, and I know it is right. I've tried putting a dollar sign in fron and putting it in quotations, nothing works, does anyone know why it won't take the password?

Why use a password? I believe wireless networks should be free for everyone. It's great having people who come over automatically connect without having to mess around with anything....

Just plug in your router and set airport to automatic, it should just work. If it doesn't then you are probably connecting to someone else's network.

Well in an apartment building, you would want a password. If you have your "home" network set up for file sharing, and you do not have a password anyone that connects to you network would have access to your files.
