Hello all,

i'm new to jailbreaking and have had an ipad 2 for about a year now,
Specifics: iPad 2, 16GB, WiFi, Version: 5.1 (9B176)
Laptop: HP Pavilion, Vista

i'd like to jailbreak my device but need some help to get started,
i google'd how to do it, but the stuff that keeps popping up is usually for the newest devices & updates.

if theirs anybody that wants to help me out feel free to contact me.

The above information is incorrect. Do not try this or you may leave your iPad2 unable to boot !

There is no jailbreak for 5.1 firmware and until new jailbreak tools are released, you cannot change the firmware on your iPad2.

Have you ever saved any hashes ?

I was just about to post that. There is no jailbreak for 5.1 for the iPad2. Good catch lizard.

Thanks for the info,
good thing i took the trouble to sign up & ask..

can i still update to 5.1.1 somehow?
i dont want to lose the youtube app & maps on my ipad by upgrading to iOS6

i don't know what hashes are..

so that's it?
no cydia for me? unless i upgrade to iOS6..

when would "until new jailbreak tools are released" be?

No blobs/hashes, no firmware. Check to see if they were saved by chance for 5.0.1 or 5.1.1.

The new tools, I would ESTIMATE, will be released in January.

download TinyUmbrella

connect ipad

open TU and hit save SHSH, make sure in the advanced tab that get SHSH from Cydia is uncheked.

My guess is you won't find any blobs, you are to late.
