I haven't touched my wife's old macbook since 2011 when she upgraded to a new one, but I want to mess around with it now. Luckily there's no password required for login, but my wife can't remember her system password which is required for software updates.
She doesn't remember how old the macbook is but I know she had it before we met in 2009. It's a white macbook with 2GHz C2D processor and 2GB of RAM running OS X 10.5.8 (no date shows up in the about page).
Any suggestions on what to do? My hope is to be able to set up the macbook for basic web surfing, but imagine that without software updates that's a bad idea. I'm also curious as to how well it will handle basic internet stuff with only 2GB of RAM, but guess I'll find that out once it's up and running.
Any help much appreciated!
