Help needed restoring Address Book

I was traveling to Uk and I got a cheap android phone there. I tried to sync address book to gmail it created multiple duplicates. I deleted all entries and imported my address back up (I exported before I did anything) but it put all the info in the notes section. Then I tried time machine , I opened address book and used time machine to restore but it doesn't do anything. I looked online everything says the data is located in "username/Library/AddressBook/AddressBook.data" but its not there in lion. Any help is appreciated.
