Help needed - video conferencing

First of all - apologies, for this is a PC question!

I'm looking to link x2 Dell laptops so their webcams and talk to each other ( audio & visual ).

I want to connect them via cable.

It's for a film shoot so two actors can have a 'skype' type call - live.

Any software you good people can recommend that would do this?
