Help needed -which 13 inch

I need help deciding between the following two:

Option 1
13" nTB with:
2,3 Ghz
512 GB SSD
16 GB ram

Option 2
13" TB with
3,1 Ghz
256 GB SSD
16 GB

I will use it for:
Word processing
Mat lab
Graphing calculator
Photo editing in Lightroom

Secondary use:
Hobby video editing.
(I know that the 13" are not the best solution for that)

My concern is that the nTB's processor is a lot slower that the processor in the TB.
What do you think?

I really like that the 512GB SSD in the nTB MacBook Pro. A 512 is out of my price range in the TB MacBook Pro.

For my use I think I need 16GB of ram. Am I correct?
