I cannot find any previous threads dealing with these, if they exist links would be appreciated.

I am converting a novel in Pages to ePub, to get it published electronically later this year.
I am doing the conversion myself to get round the built in restrictions of ePub, and so far have succeeded with a number of Work-Arounds.
I am using the Best Practice Template.
Pages
I cannot persuade Pages to put Chapter Style lower down the page, it just ignores the paragraph instruction 'Spacing Before Paragraph', in the Text Inspector.
It will condescend to be Centred, but not lowered.
How do I force Pages to obey its built in 'Spacing before Paragraph' after a Page-Break, both incorporated in the Style?
Converting to ePub.
ePub, ignores Tabs used to create two lists of names neatly side by side, Pages shows them and obeys them in the Best Practice Document, ePub ignores them, not even bothering to insert a space. How do I force ePub to obey Tabs?
My Work-Around to embed a Page-Break into the Document is to insert a <space> in Chapter Style, but it only works if I leave the default Font size of 36 points in place. If I reduce the size the Page-Break is ignored. How do I force ePub to obey Page-Break in a style, with a very small Point size?
Is there a quick way to find and cure 'Floating Objects'?
All help appreciated.
