Situtation:
I have an older Mac Mini with OS X 10.11 El Capitan. This was a web and mail server and I have moved all my web sites to a new host now – except for an Inivision PowerBoard (IPB) v3.4 forum. I have bought the newest Invision Community software (v4) and should be ready to move the old one.
Problems:
- Invision 4 requires PHP7.2.
- IPB 3 can't run on PHP higer than v5.
- On the Mac Mini I have PHP v5
- On the new host I have PHP v7.2
To upgrade this correctly I have been told that I need to upgrade the old forum *before* I move it to the new host. This requires that I install PHP v7.2 on the old machine.
I have installed Brew, and I have installed PHP v7.2 on the Mini, but – Apache still thinks it is version 5. Ie, I have two PHP installations on the same machine.
I am no expert on these things, but I am patient and I can do installations based on instructions. But now I am stuck – I don't know how I can update PHP that IPB uses.
Please help. 🥺
