help! new hard drive, broken cd drive, installing osx?

hello all, i recently purchased a 500 seagate momentus xt and just finished installing it in my mbp. however i can't use my osx installation disc to install osx on it because the cd drive for my mbp doesn't work. i made a dmg file of the installation disc on my sister's macbook pro and i also have an external hard drive, but i'm stuck as to what to do from there. any help would be greatly appreciated!

Go to the Restore tab on Disk Utility. Set the DMG file as the source, and the external drive as the destination. Make sure you backed up all of your files on the external drive. Press "Restore" and you should have a functional install drive.
