Help new Imac - Another internet slow post

New iMac - month old is very slow. I have IPAD which which fine - can watch tv etc. IMAC is a different matter though. I've read most of the posts here and still struggling with sped. Slow and speedtest results show poor.
I use Belkin router and ISP is pipex (talkTalk).

If you haven't already done so, try changing your DNS servers on your Mac and your router. This will show you how: Why am I being redirected to other sites?. Note the last sentence in that section, regarding namebench.
