Help!!! New late 2008 mbp getting weird error message

I have a new late 2008 mbp 2.8, 320 @7200. I just woke my computer from sleep after comming home from work to see this message:"computer's internal clock was set to a date before March 24, 2001... some applications may act erratically" It is also saying my preffered wifi network is not available and wants the wep key. Does this have anything to do with a backup battery? Its plugged into the magsafe and the battery is at 100%. I work nights, my girlfriend likes to photoshop and she may have drained the battery before plugging it in, but i'm not sure, she's at work.
