Search the forums for "forgot admin password" and you'll find plenty of threads. The solution will involve booting in safe mode as root, deleting a file to trick the OS, and creating a brand new admin account.

i didn't forget my password, my account got changed from admin to stranded, anyways i sorted i out, i had to boot from the install dvd and reset the root users password (root user was never enabled), so i could log in as root ant tick the box in system prefs to make my account an admin account
