Alright, so my Macbook Pro early 2008 model has an audio issue. I can't hear anything from the internal speakers and there is this red light that is coming from my headphones jack. I now this kind of thread has been posted everywhere but this problem is slightly different. You see, when I did the toothpick trick to get the sensors inside the headphone jack the light actually went out so I thought, "yes! I did it", but when I tried to turn the volume up I got the same grayed out volume icon and no sound!

BTW, headphones don't work in my jack anymore because it got messed up a while back but the speakers worked fine until recently when my Macbook still registered the headphone jack as having a pin inside.

Thanks in advance! People here have been really helpful to me in the past!
