Greetings..
I have the 867 tibook, and lately out of the blue I will get sudden distortion bursts. Some of it comes from the speakers, even on mute the distortion comes through. I have been battling this problem for the last 5 days. I am running OS 10.3.7. I did all the usual things like repair permissions, zap the pram, and ran tons of hardware and disk utilities. Everything came back as passed. There is not just one thing of app that triggers this....the machine works fine..just every hour or so...a huge amount of distortion just starts..lasts for about 2 mins...then is fine again. After the distortion I will loose audio output completely. Usually after a restart the audio output comes back. This is very stange to me...I have searched all kinds of forums....and really have not found others having this problem...so I thought I might post this on Macworld. Anybody have this problem?? Any ideas how to solve it. Driving me nutz!!!
