Help on deciding if this RAM works on my MacBookPro late 2008

Hello,

I have this MacBook Pro http://www.everymac.com/systems/app...-2.4-aluminum-15-late-2008-unibody-specs.html and was wondering if I could upgrade it to 8GB RAM with these 2 pieces:
http://www.crucial.com/uk/store/partspecs.aspx?IMODULE=CT2KIT51264BC1067

According to OWS http://eshop.macsales.com/item/Other World Computing/8566DDR3S8GP/ this piece works. And from what I gathered, the one from crucial matches the specs on these one. (I need to buy from Europe because of no-Customs taxes)

I also have the requirements listed here: http://blog.macsales.com/9102-secret-firmware-lets-late-08-macbooks-use-8gb

Just trying to get any extra input before advancing with this purchase.

Thank you for your help :)

It should work. According to Apple, the maximum is 6Gb but people have tried 8Gb and it works fine.

I have late mbp 2008 with 8GB OWC memory since almost 2 years. It works very fine :)

Boot ROM Version: MBP51.007E.B05
SMC Version (system): 1.33f8

I have the same specs except the boot ROM version is MBP51.007E.B06 instead.

Problem with Sleep

I upgraded to 8GB a week or so ago and my computer would no longer wake up from sleep. I found a tip to set maxmem to 7.5GB and since then it's been working.

I suspect those that got it to work with 8 full GB were using the slower video card. I'm using macbook Pro 5,1 and boot rom: MBP51.007E.B06
