My wife has OfficeMac 2008 on her MBP, and she is desperately trying to download some resume templates from Microsoft's website. The templates are in a ".dotm" format and will not open when she downloads them.

Any suggestions?

Those templates sound suspicious to me... Office 2008/2011 Word templates are normally in .dotx format, NOT .dotm.

That said, is she trying to open them by double-clicking? That may not work. With Word templates you normally have to open them from within Word - which causes a new document to be created based on the template.

They are coming from the Microsoft Office website; not a 3rd-party.

We tried clicking on the "download" button which would bring up the prompt to choose whether to "Open File With..." or "Save As..." selections. We tried both and no luck either way. I will try opening from within Office and see if that makes any difference.
