I need some help. I was on the phone with Apple support for two hours last night, and have a follow up call with them tonight. So i just got a brand new Macbook 13" with touch bar. opened it up out of the box on Tuesday. sat on my desk till thursday when i installed updates through the app store to include OSX 10.13.3. Now every time i restart the computer it acts like it is finishing the OSX install. i get a status bar under my login that takes forever to get through, then it asks me for my wifi network and password, then another screen indicating it is finishing installing the software with another status bar, then i have to login again. i have tried reinstalling the OS by restarting using cmd+r. when i try to restart with cmp+opt+r it gives me a -3043 error or something like that. does anyone have any other suggestions to try prior to my call with apple support again tonight?

I would completely nuke the drive and do a fresh install from scratch
That did not work. Same issue. Any other suggestions?

Dumb question, I did not buy this from Apple, but if I take it to the store and they can’t fix it, can I get a different product and pay the difference? If I can’t do that I might as well just return it and live with what I’ve got for now.

Did you use Disk Utility to completely erase the drive and reformat it?
Not just the partition, the whole drive

I would try installing from a USB installer created on another Mac

But honestly, if it is new I would return it for a refund and buy another

Yes that is what I did. I will see what apple says if they ever call me, otherwise I will return it. Thanks for your help.
