A client installed Outlook 2011 on a new Macbook Pro under Office 365. It is trying to download all 70,000+ emails, complete with attachments, accumulated on the Outlook 365 Exchange server. It's been working constantly all weekend, and isn't close to finished.

Is there a way to stop the download of old emails but keep new emails being delivered? He doesn't want to use the "Download headers only" option because he receives a lot of attachments and doesn't want to wait for them to download until he clicks on an email. (He has a pretty slow Internet connection.)

I've told him to download the new version of Outlook and install it, but he may not be able to handle that on his own, and it will be some time before I'm back on location to help.

Any suggestions? (I'm actually a writing/content consultant, not IT, but I try to help him out where I can.)
