help pairing my iphone

i am having trouble pairing my iphone it says it isnt connected can anyone hit me with a good link or a dead thread that maybe i wasnt able to find i would like to be able to sync it without plugging it in if that is possible.

I'm assuming bluetooth pairing to your mac/pc for tethering?
