I had XP in bootcamp with a partition of 5GB. Then, when I got Vista (my uncle is Bill gates;) ) I decided to delete the XP partition, to make a new partition of 7GB for Vista. After a few minutes trying to partition I got this error : I really don't want to do this with all my music etc..anything I can do? I have repaired permissions to no avail.

There is no way around this. I had the same problem and in the end I just had to re-format, and do as Boot Camp says.

I'd ask your uncle if he can spare an external HDD to back up onto briefly, it's actually quite an easy process, just take a disk image (easily done), and EVERYTHING is backed up...

Do I have to de-then-re authorise my iTunes bought music, or is that ok? And how long -ish does it take

OK, I got an external seagate drive, how do I back up the disk?
