Hi, so at my school, we have a TV studio, but our equipment is a little outdated, and we want to upgrade to HD. We have some problems. Right now, we mainly use Canon GL2s (a few GL1s) for shoots outside the studio, like for sports, races, community events, etc.
For multicam shoots, we use the GLs connected to a 3.5mm -> RCA video output, going to BNC cable, going to the switcher.
What I need is a camera that can output HD though HD-SDI or something. My budget is less than 3K per camera, although 2K would be best.
I read about HDMI to SDI, but I also read that they were laggy or something? I am not quite sure how to go about this.
Any help would be appreciated, and any other ways of going about this would be great.
