Help Please - Aperture 3 - Adjustment Presets Disappeared

I have been using the trial version of Aperture 3, and upgraded today to the full version by using the serial number I got with the boxed version. I then upgraded to version 3.0.2 via software update.

Now, when I try to apply Presets to a photo, the presets (Quick Fixes etc) are all greyed out.

Does anyone know why this might be and how I can fix it?

using OS X 10.5.8 on Intel Macbook Pro.

I had Quick Preview on. Toggles with "P".

Unclick the "Quick Preview" button in the lower righthand corner. When Quick Preview is enabled, adjustments are not allowed.
