My springboard is fine however whenever I open an app it only fills the top left quarter of the screen and the rest is just black

Help Please! Apps only filling top left of screen

To late im trying to restore using the cydia server but it keeps locking up.. so if you can help with that it would be appreciated...
But the orginal problem was like so... imagine the entire screen in any and all apps confined to just the top left quarter of the screen perfectly. Ive never seen anything like it. I was at the time using simple background.. IT was working fine then i resprun and it went haywire
