Help Please. Finder/Library window

I used to use the keys --Option(Alt) command spacebar to get up a finder window to explore the macbook, this would work from anywhere on the macbook. I have also got parallels running with XP.

Now things have changed and I can only get a spotlight window when I press these keys.

Can any one tell me what to set to get the Finder window back.
