Ok, here's my deal... I'm with AT&T and I cancelled my data plan (because I use wi-fi everywhere I go anyway) and turned off my 3G and told them to put a data block on it. And to ensure that they don't detect me still using the iPhone (so I don't get charged crazy data usage), I got Edge turned off too by installing the fake apn profile. My phone is a 3gs on 3.1.3 and is Spirit jailbroken, and I tried looking EVERYWHERE online to see how I can get mms and visual voicemail. Does anybody know? ANYONE AT ALL??? I couldn't find an app for my particular phone/firmware on Cydia... I would be sooooo grateful to anyone who can help! I've been going without it for like 3 weeks and it's killing me!

MMS and visual voicemail use a cellular data connection. It is not possible to send MMSs or use visual voicemail if your data connection is turned off. Nothing short of purchasing a data plan will enable it.
Everything that is said above is accurate. I was in this situation about 2 years ago. You might consider a pay as you go plan or switching carriers.
Also, there are some nice WIFI bassed texting and MMS applications - might look into those, but that's not super reliable for you.
