I was trying to install Windows 7 using Parallels Desktop 8, but the install crashed...I have tried to uninstall Parallels, then reinstall, but it keeps going to the fail point during the install. I did a time machine backup prior to the install. So, how can I go back to that backup and put my rMBP back to that time?

I do backups all the time, but haven't a clue how to restore using time machine.

Please help. Thanks.

Yes, you can. Plug in the TM drive and option key boot the machine. This will start to a recovery screen from the TM disk.

Start Disk Utility and erase Macintosh HD then quit Disk Util. Now click restore. You will get a screen showing a list of restore points with dates. Pick the one you want and away you go.
