Hi everyone!

This is my first post here.

I have an intel core duo imac that came with a wired mighty mouse.

I have been using the mouse with no big problems so far, just the ocassional cleaning the scroll ball pain in the ass. I managed to find ways around it, although i find it really annoying at times.

Anyways, 2 days ago the mighty mouse gone completely mad! All main buttons (left/right/middle click) acted as one! The only buttons that still operate well are the side buttons.

My mouse settings in preferences are these:

left button: primary click
right button: secondary click
middle button: expose windows
side buttons: expose desktop

Now, if u left click, right click or middle click all u get is expose!

Seems like they all became the middle button :S

I played around with all combinations in mouse settings, no luck.

I trashed the preferences com.apple.driver thingy, all it did is change the middle button to dashboard and now all buttons get me to dashboard.

I used to have steermouse to fix the accelaration problems with the mighty mouse. I unistalled that, reinstalled it. much of the same problems.

Ok lets go to the last weirdest part of the story.

I set the middle button and side buttons (scrollball) off in settings and had the other two as primary click and secondary click. OK?

Now the mouse managed to finally do a left click in finder, desktop, dock icons but it doesnt do anything in other open applications (safari, mail, etc). It worked good in itunes as well.

Another weird thing, i open the system preferences window and it doesnt work there either, i had to use the keyboard to access settings etc.

Last one is. I can click a new finder window, but i cant drag the window to a new position!!!!! Drag only works on the icons of my desktop!

Its like my mm has become selective! How can this be? How can it work in finder but not anywhere else?

At this point, i have no steermouse, just the apple driver from tiger. Could it be a problem with this driver (corrupted), or is it a hardware defect?

Any help would be very much appreciated.

Thanx for reading,

Dim.
