I have just bought a Macbook Pro and want to transfer files from my old Macbook. I started up the new mac and opened the Migration Utility following all instructions to the letter. The transfer was going fine via my home network then at approx 8 hours to go froze and nothing has happened for 10 hours. What do I do now?
Thank you someone who can help me

Cancel it.
Get a FireWire cable, boot the old Mac in Target Disk Mode (hold the T key while it is booting), connect both Macs, you will see the old Mac as an external Hard Drive in your new Mac, and use the Migration assistant to make it happen faster.
