Hi. I'm having some difficulty when printing to a network printer. I can print fine, but each time I print, I need to re-enter my name and password in the User Authentication section. This is what I need help with - keeping those details in there without having to enter them in each time.
We have called in one of the techs that service our printer, and he tweaked things a lot but in the end couldn't solve this. The problem isn't the printer, but somewhere on my MacBook Pro (new one bought late last year). So I'm on my own to fix this (I work for a church - we don't have a tech guy as such who oversees all of our IT).
We looked at CUPS and were able to tweak that to keep the User Authentication box ticked, but couldn't find anywhere in that to store the name and password. We repaired Disk Permissions. I looked in keychain and couldn't find any entries about the printer. I'm logged in as an Administrator. We downloaded the latest drivers. My old MacBook, as well as the other handful of computers and laptops here at work, all print fine without having to enter any additional info.
Does anyone have any ideas of other things I can check?
I'm running Yosemite 10.10.5. It's a "MacBook Pro (Retina, 13-inch, Early 2015)".
Many thanks in advance for any ideas, suggestions and help.
