I have this problem: even though the photo on the screen is straight/right, when it comes out the printer it is positioned wrong (specular) for eg if on the screen the church is on the left, when it is printed the church is on the right (it is as if the phot gets flipped)

What software do you use to print, what Mac OS X version do you have and what printer do you print with?

Have you checked the print settings in the dialog that appears when you select to print?

Have you also taken a look at MRoogle, since that question may have been asked several times?
 
More information is needed to help you for sure.

But most print drivers have the ability to flip (not rotate) the image with printing. Check for that option in the printer preferences before clicking print.
