Right now I am using pwnage tool to jailbreak my iphone 3gs on 4.1. I followed the instructions on iclarified's website and when I get to the part where you hold alt/option on my mac in itunes, I click the restore custom file made and then it loads for a minute, extracting the software, then gets to the verifying iphone restore with apple and then comes up with an error. It then comes up with an error saying, "The iphone "Iphone" could not be restored. This device isn't eligible for the requested build. Then gives me two options, more information or ok.

What do I do, please help?!?!

sounds like its giving you that error cuz Apple isn't signing the 4.1 FW anymore, the Giant (Apple) is forcing u to install the latest 4.2.1.

It wont let you restore if you dont have 4.1 shsh's.
Use limerain or greenpoison to JB it right now on 4.1
If you update to 4.2.1 you might be stuck with a tethered JB.

I decided to just let itunes restore it and it restored it as 4.2.1. I will just wait for the untethered version to come out. Thanks for everyones help.
