My songs on my iPhone in iTunes are grey and have a symbol similar to a refresh symbol beside them. they also won`t play. can you help please?

have you tried rebooting your phone???

Yeah, try a hard reset. Hold your Power Button (at the top) and your Home Button simultaneously until you see the Apple logo appear on the screen.
