Hi,

Can someone help please? I love my customized ringtones.
When I was using my iphone4 version 4.2.1, I could assign
specific customized ringtones to specific phone numbers and they
worked like charm. After upgrading to ios5, they don't work anymore
though I see the customized ringtones on my phone.

If there s no one who can help me on this, is it advisable to
downgrade to ios4 4.2.1?

Thanks very much and any help would b much appreciated.

I honestly don't understand what your saying. Try resyncing the ringtones.
You cannot downgrade to iOS 4.2.1. Apple stopped signing older versions with 4.1 I believe.

Thanks very much but have tried that n many others but still the same.
Very irritating.

My individual ringtones work perfectly on my iOS 5 iPhone 4. I can even set up specific vibrations per contact as well.
Seems like a software glitch.
Have you tried a restore as new?

Before you do this, verify that you do in face have your custom ringtones on your iPhone. If so, go into contacts and edit one to see if said custom ringtones are available.

If not:
Connect your phone and start up iTunes. On the info page, you should see a restore button. If you click on that you should be presented with an option to restore from a back up or as a new phone.

If you restore as a new phone, you'll have to sync it again to get all your apps, music, etc. back since your phone will now be set back to default.
