Last night I just noticed that this public folder was showing up on my side bar. I right clicked and said remove from sidebar but it will not go away. Anyone have any suggestions? It never used to be there.

Tap it with two fingers and drag it to the right?
Don't know why I said "two". One finger drag to the right out of the sidebar should make it disappear.

Do the obvious, restart Finder, restart the OS, etc. Try also adding the folder back and removing again, could work. Sadly, I can't help in any other way.

It's so weird, I disabled sharing in preferences thinking that would help but it didn't. I'll just keep my devices hidden since it's bugging me. Thank you guys for the suggestions :)

Surprised one finger drag to the right didn't work for you. I tested it on remote disk item listed under my devices in finder and it immediately disappeared.
