So I was Encoding a video with sorenson squeeze before I left and it had about 20 minutes to go. When I came back My computer was alseep and really loud. I hit the mouse and my screen saver was froze. I did a hard restart and it won't boot past the Grey Apple screen.

I put in the system disc but I don't really know what to do. Please help!

Put in the OS Install CD, in order to get the computer to boot from it you have to hold down C as the Mac turns on, hold the button until you are seeing a loading screen, also you can listen to hear if the CD is being accessed

The Installer will then appear, now you should see the Apple menu on the top of the screen, I think there is a Tools or Utilites Option

Click on it and select Disk Utility and you can use that to check out your hard disk and see if something needs repairing

Come back if you need further help :)
